HEALTH (Grades 1-9)
It is our philosophy that the Health curriculum is one area best served at the heart of the family. Please enjoy the opportunity to connect with your family about these health-related topics and take a few moments each month to submit the assessments linked below which will show proof to EICS that you have met the course outcomes.
Below you will find files which contain lessons/assessments for each grade. Each grade level folder contains four lessons (numbered 3-6). In order to make things easier for families at the start of the year, assessments 1 and 2 will be completed in class. The Homework Page will indicate when each lesson should be completed. Early submissions are also welcome ! To submit your assessments, log in to your schola family account ([email protected]) at www.drive.google.com and find your family folder under ‘Shared with me’. MATH (grades 1-6)
For families with SJCS, Math is taught in the home with a program of the family’s choice for grades 1-6. There are many high-quality options to choose from: Jump Math, BJU, Saxon, Singapore Math, The Good and The Beautiful, Math Mammoth and many more.
In order to keep your facilitator updated with your progress in Math throughout the year, please submit at least one assessment per month to your family folder in your google drive account. To submit assessments, log in to your schola account at www.drive.google.com and find your family folder under ‘Shared with me’. See sidebar for help. MATH ASSESSMENTS: Once a month, please submit any quizzes or tests your child has completed during that time. If your program does not have frequent quizzes or tests, you may submit either a few samples of work showing progress in various topics, OR you may use one of the optional math assessments linked below. MATH OBJECTIVES: Inside your Family Folder (found in your Google Drive account), there is a spreadsheet listing the Alberta Learning Objectives which should be covered. If your selected Math program does not cover the objectives you can supplement the missing material using the assessment folders below (Questions? email [email protected]. As well, some families choose to use the optional Math assessments below instead of ones in their chosen program as these assessments are fully aligned to learning objectives.
