OUR UNIQUE ADVANTAGES
   
​SJCS is a unique program with the following advantages:
  1. SJCS respects the rights of parents to exercise control over the education of their own children. 
  2. SJCS uses excellent curriculum which lends itself to a classical academic approach.
  3. SJCS upholds Catholic teachings in all courses and by all tutors. SJCS tutors swear an oath of fidelity to the teachings of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
  4. Our junior program, which runs 2 day/week, inherently requires parental involvement during carry-over days at home. The involvement of parents testifies to our belief in the importance of parents as primary educators of their children; parents are aware of and take an active part in what their children are learning.
  5. Our senior program, which runs 4 days/week, is flexible enough to adapt to some of the individual needs of the students. Teachers are available online on Mondays to answer questions. Families may work with the facilitator to adapt our program to achieve their goals. Most of our students are pursuing a full Alberta High School diploma, and are able to apply for the Rutherford Scholarships.
  6. Students can earn high school credits, with the assistance of EICS teachers supported by SJCS tutors, by meeting outcomes, challenging courses, as well as earning credits by pursuing self-directed activities outside of our program.
  7. Finally, SJCS students receive an excellent musical formation in a variety of musical styles and also come to appreciate their musical heritage as Catholics.​​

OUR FACILITY
Our leased facility features spacious classrooms, an amphitheatre, a fully-equipped gynasium and extensive library.  ​And plenty of parking!

GOVERNANCE  
​SJCS is governed by the society board of directors consisting of nine members - most of whom are parents committed to the success of the program.
